And yet the words did work their cryptic art,
And for true love I could not help but yearn,
Longed for a worthy guardian for my heart,
For someone who would cause my blood to burn.
I wondered what fair shape my love would wear,
Weighed in my heart what beauty I loved best,
And yet, my years of dreams could not compare
To one with whom my love today does rest.
For all those books of lovers, fair and true,
I wouldn't lose a moment spent with you.

Well, liking poetry and being forced into poetry... There are some differences.

Free will, mainly. And the choice of whether or not to edit.

I couldn't. I like to wait a day or two and look at something again before I decide if it's done.

I don't really write much poetry, anyway. That's Todd's job.

Well, you write plays, right?

Todd does! Well, he has; one, anyway. I need to start casting for it, but it seems like something comes up every time I'm getting ready to do it.

I seem to always end up being the director, really, though all I wanted was to be an actor.

But for me to act, someone has to direct, so I guess, I do both.

I guess....I could direct it.

Interesting curse today, isn't it?

[For once, Neil is the one with the notebook covered in scrawls and scribbles. It's sitting on the table next to him, since he typed the final draft into the device. In less surprising news, he's grinning.]

Seems to be.

[And he smirks back at you.]

It must be awful to be affected. I always hate the curses that make you post things uncontrollably.

Well. [His grin widens a little.] I'm sure it must be.

[The smirk shifts into a grin. Yeah, he was pretty sure, but still. It's different when you have confirmation. No more words. Just a light kiss as he settles down, leaning against Neil.]

[He shifts as Todd sits with him, spreading an arm around the other boy.]

Do you think it was too obvious?

[And he presses up against Neil, grabbing the hand of the arm that's around him.]

I doubt it. I mean-- definitely not on who it's about, anyway, and most people aren't writing about themselves anyway. Honestly, I could be being presumptuous.

[He smiles, tilting his head to lean against Todd.]

It seemed like a perfect opportunity to... I don't know. Tell everyone, without anyone knowing.

I guess there's sort of a thrill to that. It's all right there, but nobody knows?

[Or at least, nobody other than a few people who already know. But this raises another question for Todd - one he acts more softly and hesitantly.]

Do you ever want to actually tell everyone?

[Neil pauses, the moment long enough to perhaps provide an answer in itself.]

Sometimes, [he admits-- carefully-- looking down as best he can to watch Todd's reaction.] It's not exactly that I want to, but... I wouldn't want everyone to find out during a curse.

[Todd bites his lower lip, falling silent for a few long seconds. He doesn't look back up at Neil, searching instead for some point in the carpet he can dwell on. Quietly, instead of really answering yet, he just follows the logic of Neil's statement.]

Or because one of our devices just decides to turn on.
