[VIDEO POST / VISIBLE IN THE SKY]

[At first there's nothing to see-- just a steady view of the sky, shaking once as an unseen hand settles the camera in place more firmly. After a long, boring minute of this, there's some unseen commotion-- a muffled voice with a clear questioning turn.

Suddenly, there are some loud crackles and whistles, completely drowning out anything being said, before the sky lights up with a brilliant display of custom fireworks, spelling out a familiar message:]

CARPE DIEM

[The camera stays trained on the sparkling letters long enough for a burst of laughter to ring out. Then the picture blurs as the device is snatched up, and swiftly turned off.]

It's fairly good practice, doing the letter ones. With something specific on them, of course. The first batch we knocked up just we just enchanted to come up with their own swear words. Some of them got quite creative.

[It seems - to Todd at least - like he spends a few eons staring even after the sparkles fade. His mouth is left hanging open, the corners upturned into a wide, awestruck smile. At length, he lets out a laugh and, that smile doing anything but fading, he looks from the sky to the other boy.]

How did you-- that's-- I--

[... and he falls short on words, but what he does manage to do is instantly close the distance between them and wrap his arms tightly around Neil.]

[That's a long enough distraction for Neil to turn the device off, and make sure it's off. He doesn't want to broadcast anything more.

It really doesn't seem like he needs to answer, at least not right now-- he'd rather just hug Todd back, pulling away just enough to kiss him.]

[That kiss is returned without even a hint of shyness or hesitance, pressing his lips back eagerly; after that display, he's far too overcome to consider restraint. His fingertips clutch at Neil's back as they kiss, holding on to him in a way that seems like he's trying to keep them both when and where they are through the sheer force of his grasp - the way he usually does.]

[It's nothing he's ever heard before, but it's a nice sentiment. And it's one he definitely agrees with. His eyes lower halfway, and he remembers his wish to live.
