♕ |[36]| And he unrolled his feathers and rowed him softly home

[With some scratching and fluttering the device is switched on to show... a bird! rather precariously perched on the edge of a desk.

He doesn't say anything, just spreads and flutters his wings before resettling and regaining his balance. He pauses there for a moment, chirps, and then leaps airward and heads for the open window.]

[ooc; Open for random action as he flies around, or i guess video responses later, but he can't talk much <333 so action's prolly more interesting. :D alsopleasepretendthiswasearlier <3]

[video] because Ray is hiding in his flat...

You too, eh?

[A bird is not quite the animal that this robot kid robo-kid happens to be looking for at the moment, but it still manages to catch his eye. He's been programmed to be as human-like as a robot can get, but living things--actual living things--still manage to fascinate him a little.

And so he slows to a halt, tilting his head a little as he fixes his gaze on it. Hey, he can spare a moment out of his search for his dog to watch this bird, right? Besides, Rush likes to chase birds. Who knows, maybe he'll turn up to harass this one or something.]

[...Okay, normal birds definitely don't act like that. But it's definitely not some kind of robo-bird, either, since there's no way technology has gotten that advanced without his knowing about it. In short, this little critter, whatever it is, is perplexing.]

Huh. That's weird...

[His shades do a pretty decent job of hiding his quirked eyebrow, but it is definitely up. Unfortunately, his memory banks don't happen to cover starling calls in particular, but a bird is a bird and hey, Blues is a pretty good whistler, if he does say so himself. Which he does.]

Hey, bird. [He whistles a little, imitating some bird call or another.] Acting kinda weird, aren't you?

Huh! You're better at that than Beat is.

[Oh, right, and speaking of Beat and the robo-animal menagerie back home...]

Hey, uh, you haven't seen a big dopey robo-mutt around here anywhere, have you?

I'm actually talking to a bird. Man, I'm losing it. ...Well, I'm looking for one and he likes chasing birds, so you better watch out, bird.

[Pause.]

...Are you lost, too?

[It really is a testament to his creators' genius, how well he can pass for an average human kid. You'd hardly even guess his skin's made of titanium.]

Well, hey, that makes one of us. My dog's lost, and I guess I kinda am, too. [A wince.] Oh, man, Father's gonna disassemble me if he finds out I lost Rush...

Action?

[don't mind that fox sneaking up on you, little bird. Really. just sit there like a good bird so she can find a way up there]

[damn it. She licks her lips and lowers her hears as she looks up at the stupid bird, glaring back. Her tail clicks as well]

Don't want to come down?

[she can't help it. The wildness in her is winning over. just barks unhappy at you]

[Todd doesn't object to Neil going out on his own. He can more than understand the other boy's desire to take advantage of the fact that he can fly for a day. So after Neil goes out, he does, too. After all, as bizarre as the last curse he was affected with was, Claire made a good point; he does stay at home too much. So Todd is out for another walk, hoping it might be somewhat less awkward. He's not cursed for this one, at least, even if the rest of the City has any number of possible issues.]

[There's a moment, when Neil first dives at him, that Todd almost yelps because of how startled he is. Almost. One of his other early instincts is to swat at whatever's seemingly attacking his head, but thankfully, he realizes exactly who this overexcited bird must be before he actually does so. By the time the bird is perched on his shoulder and tugging at his hair, Todd's expression has changed from slightly panicked surprise to mild but fond annoyance, with which he regards the bird on his shoulder.]

...having fun?

[Todd laughs at that; it certainly does suit him, and does a perfectly adequate job of keeping his personality intact - and expressing it.

He can guess as to the meaning of the gesture.]

Where am I going?

[He shrugs slightly, the empty shoulder moving a bit more than the other, not wanting to disturb Neil's perch.]

Just walking. It's a commonly held belief that I spend too much time inside.
