♕ |[46]| The poems made on their chivalric bones

[Slipped between the pages of Todd's current poetry notebook]

I almost wonder if it's too soon, after everything last month... if that's even over, I know they never found... well. Maybe we should just be grateful for the time we have, after all, this is what passes for a quiet month so far.

Who knows how long that will last.

With everything that went on last month I'm afraid I've gotten rather behind on trying to recruit for our next play... But I suppose there's no time like the present to pick up where we left off. For anyone who hadn't heard about it, or who wasn't here last time I spoke about it-- We'll be putting on a production of Oscar Wilde's

The Importance of Being Earnest.

Right now, we haven't quite sorted out the roles but we have Rosella, Cain, and myself; and I believe Justin was going to help out as crew. But! As you can see, that means we're still in need of more, both on stage and backstage. Anyone's welcome who'd like to take part-- whether you've ever been in a play or not, we're happy to have you, so just... let me know!

[ooc; may be a bit sporadic tagging but I will do my best <3]

I would really love to be involved. I'd like to have a role but if not I think I could be helpful as crew. It could be that the type of theater I'm used to is very different than this, but I suspect not, and I was practically raised in a theater.

Would you...need a set builder?

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
You're very much in need of more of a cast.

[identity profile] absinthe-eyed.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
I'd still like to work backstage. When do you plan on performing?

[ooc: P.S. If y'all need to rope anyone else into this, Penny can't say no to anyone ever.]

Well, let's see, there are nine roles, and three of us signed up to act, which means we're a third of the way to a full cast. So I do think we're well on our way, but we're going to need a few more people to fill parts, yes.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose you do have quite a bit of time between now and whenever you do decide to put on the play, yes. Still, it would be good to assemble the cast.

Barring a 24/7 job I haven't gotten yet? It'd be a nice thing to do. You know, volunteering, doing something with my time. I have construction experience. But, not really...set building? Can't be that hard, can it?

[identity profile] absinthe-eyed.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
You could convince me.

[identity profile] onceaweiss.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
That's a good choice. I look forward to seeing it.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
I thought I'd said that I'd leave that in your hands. You've more experience with these things than I have.

[identity profile] primrosella.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if there's one lesson we all learn quickly around here, it's the importance of being flexible, as well as earnest.

And, er, I've gone over it a few times, and I think I'd like to try my hand at Gwendolen! She seems like a fun role to try.

[identity profile] misterblackbird.livejournal.com 2010-08-19 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
If a particular role strikes me, then, before you make your decision, I shall be certain to send you word.

Not a great deal of experience actually doing anything other than helping put on little drawing-room productions with friends. I did, however, spend plenty of time observing, asking lots of annoying questions, and generally being underfoot. My mother was an actress.

It would be great if you could lend me your copy--I've definitely never read it. I'm Alester Siddons, by the way.

[ooc: Alester is going to love Wilde.]

I'll watch for that.
